sanguine-night-sky asked: SO, I bought my bearded dragon today and I'm already in love!! such a cutie :) a few questions though..how was your beardie when you first got him/her? like in the new setup and such

My beardie has aways been a chill dude, but alot of dragons get very stressed out in new environments. They may refuse to eat right, or at all, for a week or so after you get them. I sectioned mine off with a peice of cardboard for a few days, so he would feel more secure. Hopefully yours is chill. I made sure not to handle him too much for a week or so, to let him get settled in without giant hands pestering him.

I promise I haven’t died everybody, and Toothless is fine. I just started college, so it’s been a busy 3 days!! I will pester my fam for some pics when I can.

ffleabag asked: How do you get your beardie to keep his leash on? My beardie fights with me the entire time I try and get his leash on and I'm scared I'll hurt him!

I won’t lie- it was alot of work the first few times! To get him used to it, I would wait until he was cold and sleepy and put it on, and snuggled with him in it. That way I could adjust the tightness without worrying about him running off! Make sure he keeps as many feet on the ground as possible, to feel secure. I put each foot in, and then bring both sides up gently at the same time, trying not to catch his scales. Finally I loop the cord over his head, and pull it tight slowly. Once he started associating the harness with outside, he struggled alot less.

Speaking of Velcro, he just innocently shimmied up my leg the last time we were out. Silly Dragon! :3

He seems to like hanging on my back as of late. It’s adorable, but Mr. Velcro is hard to get off!

Exploring the bookshelf. He likes trying to sleep in there, but I always pull him out cuz I want my snuggles. ;D Plus it’s rather dusty!

First, his first trip outside in his harness! It took him a while to want to move around, but once he got a taste of outside, he did NOT want to go back in! XD

I figure all of you amazing people would like an update! :) Toothless is doing fine. I got a bit worried when I saw some red in his urates for 2 days, but then I remembered I had fed him a raspberry the day prior. Silly me! I am still going to keep an eye on him though.

He has a spot on his beard that I hope is some stuck on dirt. I hope it isn’t fungal- if it spreads, we will know. Gee, I’m just full of worries aren’t I?

Either way, he is most likely getting a check up Tuesday or Wednesday.

He is finally starting to associate his harness with outside, and we have waited for Josh to get home two times now. He doesn’t like busses very much, Trucks are iffy, but he doesn’t mind cars. All of his friends were /very/ impressed! I am leaving in 4 days, so I need to teach Josh how to put it on.

I will try my best to update in college- I will pester my family for updates and pictures I can relay to you guys! I will post some pics from the last few days following this post. :)
